MEDICAL SUPPLY DRIVE
In November and December, we will be collecting medical supplies for The Foundation for African Medicine & Education and their medical clinic in Tanzania. FAME is a non-profit corporation registered in the United States, created to improve the quality of medical care in East Africa. Presently, a Friends Academy alumna is in Africa volunteering with the Tanzanian Children's Fund, and has told us first hand of the substantial needs of these clinics. Below find their Wish List:
Betadine or Alcohol wipes in individual packets
Children’s bandaids
Ace bandages
SAM Splints
Rapid urine pregnancy tests
Speciman containers
Suture material
Multi-vitamins with Iron
Blue surgical towels
Otoscopes
Surgical instruments

Anatomic charts
Gatorade Powder
Scrubs for the staff - mostly mediums, a few smalls, and a few large (would love bright colors)
Small dixie-type cups or old film canisters (for stool samples)
Crocks or Crock-like clogs for clinic staff during the wet season

Please bring donations to the Frost Hall reception desk, marked "FAME". A FA family will be transporting all goods to Africa this Christmas.
FOOD AND CONTAINERS
To supply to local shelters. Non-perishable foods (boxes or cans) and plastic containers (with sealable covers/lids) can be delivered to the LS lobby. Some essential foods are: cereal, canned soups, pasta & sauce, boxed or canned juices, jelly, canned tuna fish or meat (no products containing nuts, please).
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Collection box in LS lobby. Funds will be used for LS community service. Valid box tops from General Mills products like Cheerios, Kleenex, Betty Crocker, Ziplock, Pillsbury, etc. Visit www.boxtops4education.com for more info.
