Our athletes compete with great success in Section VIII of Nassau County Public High School Athletic Association, home of the finest sports programs in the county. Though we're the smallest school in the association - and the only independent school - we've fielded championship teams in eight different sports for boys and girls in recent years and have won numerous awards for good sportsmanship. And the opportunities to be an athlete are far greater here than at most larger schools. Every Middle School student plays on a team, and nine out of ten Upper School students compete in at least one sport. "FRIENDS ACADEMY IS A QUAKER, coeducational, independent, college-preparatory school for students age three through 12th grade. Our philosophy is based in the principles of integrity, simplicity, patience, moderation, peaceful resolution of conflict, and a belief that the silence and simple ministry of the "gathered meeting" bring the presence of God into the midst of our busy lives. Friends is committed to developing a diverse community whose members value excellence in learning and growth in knowledge and skills. We are also committed to service and ethical action, and to an understanding that every life is to be explored, celebrated and enjoyed in the spirit of the Religious Society of Friends.
